One of my most enthusiastic supporters for this entire "enhancing the safety and security of single female riders at night" campaign that we've presented to Uber turned me on to the
$5 or $10 per month subscription app which
noonlight.com provides that turns your smartphone into a "call the police by default if the subscriber's thumb is removed from Noonlight's mobile device home screen, and the 4-digit PIN isn't immediately entered" protocol.
It sure seems like a handy app to have installed on your smartphone if you walk down dark streets and alleys at night, but it appears that Noonlight offers a much more comprehensive system for the overall safety and security of one's home and office. However, I don't completely understand all of these features, so I'm not really recommending Noonlight, but five or ten bucks per month seems like a reasonable fee to enhance one's feeling of safety and security!
Plus, Uber's CEO doesn't need to be involved, though I hope he will be.
